Thanks for coming to my website! This space is a few different things, including:

  • My digital garden, where I write and post things in various stages of completion and generally try to "work in public."
  • A platform to connect with potential collaborators.
  • A portfolio of my current and past work.

Me in twenty seconds

I'm a strategist, researcher, and writer generally working at the intersection of economic development and climate action (right now at the Zero Emissions Innovation Centre), but I also facilitate, research, and support others working on many other issues.

I'm also someone deeply concerned with beauty, and a lover of art. I grew up exploring the mountains and forests and shores of British Columbia and feel a deep connection with, and love for, nature.

I was born and raised around the Salish Sea in Canada.

How I Write

This site is inspired by the practice of "digital gardening," a term beautifully explained by Maggie Appleton and envisioned by Mike Caulfield. In short, a digital garden is a wiki-like, richly-linked information space that grows (slowly) over time.

The essence of the gardening I want to do is to share various types of content in various stages of completion and definitiveness.

This will broadly take two forms:

  • My regular newsletter, Public Learning, which will have snippets of things I am working on, as well as things of interest I am consuming.
  • My less frequent essays and interviews, which will be longer-form deep dives into key topics.

What I am working on now

Inspired by Derek Sivers, I have a "now" page for everything that I am working on.
